The Director of Student Success reports to the Master of Physician Assistant Dean/Program Director and is responsible for effectively delivering and maintaining a comprehensive MPA student process for successful student outcomes. The director will focus on the development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the MPA program-specific student success processes. The director will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives, creates new methods to support student learning, remediation and academic performance, and propose developments and revisions to the MPA program curriculum.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of student success and assessment processes.
  • Chair/Co-Chair on MPA Committee(s).
  • Liaise with the Campus Attrition Persistence and Support (CAPS) meeting for the MPA program.
  • Work closely with the campus Student Affairs team.
  • Review student progression in the PA program, considering both academic and professional issues.
  • Manage data related to student outcomes, including tracking student progression, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with academic standards and policies, including monitoring student progression and addressing academic and professional issues as they arise.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and students on matters related to student success and assessment.
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Attends Program Advisory Committee meetings to network and derive solutions of mutual concerns to community partners
  • Leads the development and maintenance of student success and assessment processes
  • Acts as Course Director for courses as appropriate
  • Provides MPA student advisement
  • Participates in the evaluation of student progress in courses throughout the program, identifying persistence challenges and developing initiatives to address them.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of NCCPA PANCE preparation strategies and progress in meeting mutually established objectives with students.

 

Preferred Education, Certifications and Licensures

  • Doctoral Degree preferred

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Ability to demonstrate bilingual skills is a plus but not mandatory.

 

Required Education, Certifications, and Licensures

  • Master's Degree, Physician Assistant
  • NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant
  • State Board license, or eligible

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of three years as a Physician Assistant providing direct patient care or equivalent and/or education.
  • Mastery in the knowledge of PA education through prior PA teaching experience.
  • Leadership experience in PA education preferred.
  • Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program areas and services.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as the ARC-PA accreditation standards.
  • Experience in MS Office

CA Salary Range

USD $138,230.12 - USD $200,406.07 /Yr.

Outside CA Salary Range

USD $121,401.98 - USD $176,038.33 /Yr.
