Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Talent Acquisition, the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for recruitment of candidates for American Career College, West Coast University, and Administration to include more senior roles as well as niche positions requiring a more specialized sourcing strategy. Working collaboratively in a multi-faceted, multi-location academic setting, the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner provides a comprehensive full life-cycle recruitment process that includes developing recruitment strategies, evaluating candidates through independent interviews to determine whether candidates would be a good fit, selecting qualified candidates to recommend to the hiring manager, consulting and guiding hiring managers through interviewing, selection, and placement functions as it relates to position control. Delivers high quality candidates. Assists with day-to-day guidance and direction on recruitment policies and procedures, championing an environment that promotes American Career College, West Coast University, and Administration as a premiere place to work. The Senior Talent Acquisition Partner may also participate with various projects that will move the talent function forward.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional client service and full lifecycle recruiting for American Career College, West Coast University and Administration. Establishes, cultivates, and maintains partnership with hiring managers in order to understand the department and its staffing strategies, and fulfill its recruitment needs. Demonstrates courtesy, diplomacy, and tact in interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Develops recruitment strategies that reflect current and future goals of the department to include senior level roles as well as niche positions requiring a more specialized sourcing strategy. Decides own sourcing techniques and methods to identify employees. Strategies may include, but are not limited to online recruitment, campus recruiting and job fairs, and targeted recruitment.
  • Consults with the hiring manager to determine the types of skills needed for the position. Decides who to recruit and develops complete and detailed search assignments (client engagement documents) with appropriate content/information, ensuring an understanding of job duties, responsibilities, and department requirements.
  • Determines effective recruitment methods based on their own experience and knowledge of a variety of sources. Executes their own recruitment strategies and aggressively recruits well-qualified candidates. Builds and maintains network of potential candidates through on-going relationship building such as pro- active market research, networking, and direct contacts with candidates via phone.
  • Utilizes independent judgment and discretion in evaluating candidates. Assesses resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, education, experience and knowledge in relation to the position to determine whether the candidate would be a good fit. Provides complete and accurate information to candidates about American Career College, West Coast University, Administration, the position, and benefits.
  • Interviews candidates via phone, zoom, or in person using their own questions which they develop to evaluate a candidate's skills, experience, personality, and knowledge and whether the candidate would be a good fit for the position. Creates prescreening questions and collaborates with hiring manager for approval. Exercises discretion to select candidates for the job opening. Decides which candidates to recommend to the hiring manager.
  • Prepares candidates for interviewing with specific hiring managers by providing detailed information on American Career College, West Coast University and Administration, business strategy, department background, job descriptions, and expectation-setting. Coaches candidates for interviews with specific hiring managers as appropriate. Manages and coordinates all communication with candidates.
  • Organizes, leads and documents post-interview debrief/feedback and post-mortems with interview teams and candidates. Evaluates feedback to determine whether further assessment of candidate is required and makes appropriate recommendations to hiring manager (e.g., such as recommending further interviews with certain members of department or recommending obtaining additional information from candidate regarding particular qualifications). Reviews the hiring manager's interview performance with each candidate to provide guidance to hiring manager regarding effective interview techniques.
  • Assesses results from background checks, references, certification and licensure, education, and other appropriate qualifying data established for the position to evaluate candidate and make recommendations to hiring managers consistent with policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements a recruitment strategy, job posting optimization, recruitment marketing channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing and comprehensive recruitment campaign planning.
  • Confers with the hiring manager regarding offers of employment and specific terms of the employment offer within the guidelines of the compensation policy. Extends offers of employment to selected candidates and engages in further negotiations as appropriate.
  • Maintains American Career College, West Coast University and Administration position control system with hiring manager. Complies with departmental approved budgets.
  • Leverages the Applicant Tracking System in conjunction with the life-cycle recruitment process including candidate sourcing, job position, requisition tracking and reporting.
  • Recommends ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of American Career College, West Coast University and Administration.
  • Develops and maintains a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates. Creates and fosters relationships with colleges and professional organizations to attract and recruit candidates.
  • Ensures the timely and cost-effective fulfillment of all open requisitions with quality talent, leads a proactive approach to updating hiring managers and key leadership regarding open positions.
  • Develops and utilizes a multitude of strategies for attracting talent including, but not limited to: social media, job boards, internet sourcing, college recruiting programs, participation in employment events and career fairs.
  • Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on candidates, searches, hiring managers' interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and thorough audit if required. Collects and analyzes data on demographic and hiring activity for use in designing future recruitment plans.
  • Initiates and maintains excellent working relations within the Human Resources organization. Uses effective communication approaches that include proactively keeping others informed, appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form. Provides information and responds in a timely manner.
  • Visits departments at each campus as appropriate to develop a thorough understanding of the department culture and to help potential candidates fully understand the opportunity at American Career College, West Coast University, and Administration.
  • Participates in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies. Researches and stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the- art recruiting practices.
  • Determines best practices and manner in which to promote American Career College, West Coast University, and Administration, such as recruitment functions, job fairs, and career events.
  • Works closely with Sr. Talent Acquisition Partner to select media and approaches to employment advertising such as internet web-postings, direct mail, and maintains accurate records, reports and files. Creates employment advertisements with assistance of marketing department.
  • Prepares and maintains departmental reports as assigned. (i.e., activity report, position control report, etc.)
  • Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate and participates in professional activities to keep current on developments in recruitment and the human resources field.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
  • Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures and attends in-services and other required meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student, associate, and/or company information as required.
  • Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education, Certifications and Licensures

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field required.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in full life-cycle corporate recruiting and/or talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying leading recruiting practices and competency/behavioral-based assessment techniques and adept with using a variety of recruiting technologies to source talent, including experience in designing and executing social media, and employment branding strategies.
  • Proven track record of success in attracting a diverse array of qualified talent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Access, Excel, and Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience prioritizing multiple searches, projects and client relationships.
  • Experienced in all full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, legal, relationship management, and due diligence.
  • Knowledge and extensive past use of a server-based applicant tracking system.
  • Experience with building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools, preparing, and presenting search strategies, and reporting on its ROI.
  • Excellent project management, writing, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Evidence of strong principles and practices of recruitment including knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations; recruitment, selection and placement; and position control processes.
  • Must be internet savvy and experienced in mining online databases to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections.
  • Proficient command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correct usage of the English language.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills for internal and external communications needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work across complex organizations in an environment of change.
